The Hemwick Grave Woman is an enemy in Bloodborne.
Description[]
Tenders to the cremation sites of Hemwick. They wield a variety of tools as weapons against their enemies. Interestingly, they appear to be completely unaffected by the Beast Plague, though their insanity more than makes up for it.
There are many variants of this enemy:
- Sickle/Cleaver
- Soldering Pole Iron
- Wooden Mallet
- Molotov Cocktail
Location[]
Strategy[]
The melee variants of these enemies are almost identical in strategy to the Huntsman enemies (save the Rifle Huntsmen), rushing forward with reckless abandon. This leaves them very open for Visceral Attacks, resulting in easy kills. The Pole Iron variant of this enemy is the most dangerous melee variant, as it deals Fire damage as well as physical. However, wearing fire-resistant gear, such as the Charred Hunter Set, will make them just as harmless as the other melee variants.
The most dangerous of these women is the Molotov version, who will throw their Molotovs with uncanny range and accuracy. The Molotovs themselves will deal little damage, and the health lost is easily rallied back on other enemies. However, where this variation becomes dangerous is when another enemy is nearby. The molotovs are guaranteed to stun the player, and with other enemies nearby, this may lead to an early demise.

Notes[]
- They are far more aggressive than their male counterparts, the Huntsmen.
- Hunting Dogs are occasionally accompanying these enemies.
Trivia[]
- These women work in a Charnel Lane, which is the place to store dead bodies. But they cremate the corpses which at first glance is strange in Yharnam, as burial is the usual tradition, but upon closer inspection of the Hemwick Charnel Lane, it begins to be clear that they don't actually perform funeral rites, and are instead using the deaths of those in Yharnam to fuel the war against the Beasts.
- Items such as the Bone Marrow Ash, and Materials such as the Bloodshot Eyeball, Inflicted Organ, and Yellow Backbone are things likely collected by these madwomen, all in service of the Church.
- Their weapons are actually their tools: the big hammer to crush and grind human remains after cremation, the hot iron pole to tend the fire, and the sickle to dismember the bodies and "harvest" the organs.
