The Blood Gel is an enemy in Bloodborne.

Description[]

A hostile ooze made of blood and bones, that attacks with spike pseudo-pods and latching to its victims.

It is entirely mindless and extremely slow, but due to its color can be rendered unnoticeable in the dark.

It also is capable of ambushing players as they usually are stuck in ceilings.

Strategy[]

This enemy can deal considerable damage if it falls on top of players. It deals moderate damage while on the ground. Beware, however, as its attacks are almost impossible to interrupt unless killed mid-attack.

It is highly resistant to physical damage but extremely sensitive to any source of non-physical damage. As such, using a Molotov Cocktail, an element infused weapon or just buffing a weapon with an element will greatly aid in quickly killing this enemy.

Notes[]

  • They are sensitive to any sort of non-physical damage. Therefore using Arcane, Bolt, or Fire damage will greatly damage them.
  • An upgraded Hunter's Torch might be useful to fight these creatures, as well as a Flamesprayer.

Trivia[]

  • These creatures appear to be an amalgamation of rotten corpses that fused together and gained sentience.
  • The fact that they drop Oil Urns might be mostly because players can actually harvest some of the Blood Gel's fluids, which are themselves flammable.
  • They are reminiscent of a type of enemy present throughout most Souls games.
