Mergo's Chief Attendant is an enemy in Bloodborne.

Description[]

Mergo’s Chief Attendants are disproportionately large women, with large, fat looking armor and a grotesque metal mask, complete with a veil of chainmail.

On their hands they use an extremely large and thick axe and on the other, a chain whip. Both weapons deal Rapid Poison.

They are often found amongst groups of Mergo's Attendants.

Location[]

Strategy[]

The key to the fight is to always dispatch the Mergo's Attendants that accompany the Chief Attendant. However, if there are crossbow-wielding Attendants, then the wise decision is to isolate the Chief Attendant herself and use the environment to stay out of their lines of sight.

A good strategy to use against them is to parry them when the use their chain attack, then use a Visceral Attack.

The Chief Attendants are extremely hard hitting, and if they trigger Rapid Poison at players with half health, this usually results in their deaths.

Notes[]

Trivia[]

  • Their female and "voluptuous" physique, along with their use of a very long bladed axe, seems to be in reference to a tradition started in every Dark Souls whereas a there was a hostile NPC that would resemble a fat masked woman, pursuing players with a giant meat cleaver.
    • This tradition was started when one of the developers would invade players in Dark Souls, dressed as the Meat Cleaver-wielding Black Phantom in Demons Souls.
