"An outsider who's come to join the hunt?
What a pathetic idea.

— Narrow Minded Man

The Narrow Minded Man is a character in Bloodborne.

Description[]

A shrewd, distrustful man who immediately suspects the Hunter as being an outsider. His distrust is so deep that he actually goes to the opposite safe haven suggested by the Hunter. Sending him to Iosefka's Clinic will trigger a move to Oedon Chapel, and vice-versa.

Location[]

Plot[]

The Narrow Minded Man will listen to the Hunter after sending Arianna to either Iosefka's Clinic or Oedon Chapel. If he moves to the Chapel, he can be talked to, although he will not provide any real assistance or useful advice.

Dialogue[]

Notes[]

  • If the player does not rescue him before defeating Rom, he, along with other NPCs that have not been rescued, will become unavailable for the rest of the game.
  • He wears the Common Yharnam Set and, astonishingly, also wears Gehrman's Hunter Trousers.
  • There is no major quest or items associated with the Narrow Minded Man.

Trivia[]

  • It is heavily implied that he is also a drunk, as once he is dead, he drops 3 Pungent Blood Cocktails.
  • It is interesting to note that the man's 'advice' to the Hunter is just as contrarian and opposite as his actions after being told of a safe haven:
    • He dislikes the Oedon Chapel Dweller and states that he isn't to be trusted, despite the Dweller actually having no ill-intent and being gentle and kind.
      • In a similar to how his advice about Arianna is correct but aimed at the wrong person, his advice about the Chapel Dweller may be intended to be a warning against the Suspicious Beggar, as both of them are blind beggars with a murky past
    • He states that Arianna "deeply resents" Sister Adella and that she "despises the saint for having what she doesn't". However, this is actually the opposite, as it is Adella who is resentful and jealous of Arianna, even going as far as to kill her later on in the game, if certain conditions are met.
