The Gatling Gun is a Left Hand Weapon in The Old Hunters DLC.

Description

In-Game Description

This is a highly-customised, portable version of the stationary gatling gun operated by the hunter Djura in Old Yharnam.
It was the weapon of choice of the youngest of Djura's three companions.
The Gatling Gun boasts exceptional rapid-firing functionality, but is considered a cumbersome weapon, due to its excessive weight and insatiable consumption of Quicksilver Bullets.

Availability

  • Dropped by the Powder Keg Hunter NPC, found in the dark cave found by going right when finding the river of blood with the fattened Bloodlickers within the Hunter's Nightmare.

Characteristics

The Gatling Gun requires superior Strength and a moderate amount of Bloodtinge to be wielded, but is worth a lot for players who focus on Strength builds. It will, however, consume exorbitant amounts of QS Bullets, despite the phrasing in reality holding the trigger down you get about 4 shots per bullet, so in a way its consumption of bullets can be compared with the Flamesprayer or Rosmarinus.

It deals high amounts of damage and is best used against NPC hunters as their AI will not be able to stop themselves from being staggered to death. This holds true for the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst.

It can also be a decent choice in PvP as it’s stagger can prevent other players from healing or attacking and force them to strafe giving a good amount of breathing room, though another note it is not worth using bone marrow ash.

Notes

  • Care should be taken with the NPC that wields the Gatling Gun as he is extremely damaging and it is recommended to use the boulder in his area to use as cover. Use of the Hand Lantern and/or Torch is also advised.

Trivia

  • This Gatling Gun is almost an identical replica of the larger one that is used by Djura to fend off hunters in Old Yharnam. Its most noticeable differences are in the shorter length of its barrel and the lack of handcrank as a firing mechanism, as well as the more obvious difference in size and barrels.
  • It also resembles those used by the Wheelchair Huntsmen.
