An old, cranky woman who thinks of Hunters as simple workers.
She can be found in relatively near of the first lamp within Yharnam, although the gate to the left must be unlocked first. Enter the house and through the door on the same floor of which the player enters and many cages filled with dogs lie ahead, with some dogs roaming around.
Then, there will be a dog barking at a house. Kill the dog and knock on the door to speak with the old lady inside.
It will be possible to direct her to either Iosefka's clinic or Oedon Chapel, although the latter is recommended.
At some point, the endless beast hunt drove her mad, leading her to stock up on Sedatives to calm her nerves. After triggering the Paleblood moon by killing Rom, the Vacuous Spider, she cracks and begins to think that the Hunter is her son/daughter.
She will give the Hunter sedatives. She can give the Hunter 6 in total. A note can be found telling the Hunter to wait. She will return after using the Cathedral Ward lamp twice. She will not return the next time she leaves, and her corpse can be found near a gravestone outside of Oedon Chapel.
If she is the only rescued survivor when the Hunter defeats Vicar Amelia, she will begin to crack sooner than otherwise, even if rescuing others after this point.

Oh, you're a hunter, aren't ya? Then, well, do you know of any safe places?
What is it now. I've much better ways to pass the time. Unless...you've found me a nice, safe place?
Yeah, I should've known. Ya good-for-nothing... No respect for the elderly is what that is! Yeah, fat lot of good you outsiders do. Go on, admit it, you think we're all mad, don't ya? Well, go and stuff it! I know all yer tricks!
Well, Whaddya know? An outsider worth a lick of salt. Well, don't just stand there. Don't you have work to do? Go slit some throats, get this mess done with.
Oh, my… You poor thing. But don’t you worry. This will help you forget. Forget your troubles, forget your cares…
Oh, good. What a relief. You always were the brave you. But you can’t bottle up everything inside. You musn't be afraid to share.
Oh, my. You poor thing. But don't you worry. This will help you forget. Forget your troubles, forget your cares...
Oh good. What a relief. You were always the brave one. But you cant bottle everything up inside. You mustn't be afraid to share.
Now, now, have some patience.
Oh, enough with you. Trot along, chop chop!
Talking at Oedon Chapel
Oh, no. I haven't forgotten. Do you think I owe you something? Well, that's a fine lark. I'd say. This whole mess that Yharnam's in, it's all your fault, you fidgety outsiders! Our blood's ruined, tainted by your ilk! Don't you come near me! I know your type!
You! Stay away from me! I know your tricks
Oh, How did we ever get into this mess.
Oh, the good old days, what a laugh, eh?
Oh, there you are. You’re home early, dear. Is anything the matter? You can always tell me. Mother will make everything better. What’s wrong? Anything you’d like to tell me?
Ohh, what is it dear? Are you in a bind again?
Oh, my you poor thing. Now, now… have some patience. Mother will make everything better. Now, now… be patient!
Ah, welcome home dear. You’ve been very, very patient. Here you are... This will help you forget. Forget your troubles, forget your cares.

What’s got into you? Curse you stranger!

What is it? I smell that... You must be a hunter. And not one of ours, either. Well, get
lost, and don't come back! I wouldn't open my door for me own poor mother, not on a night of the hunt! And certainly not for a rotten offcomer. Go on, away with ya!
Talk to her again
What is it now? I've much better ways to pass the time. Unless... you've found me a
nice, safe place?
What's a hunter, anyway? Go feed yourself to a beast.
Get lost, enough of this! Oh, help me, gods...
Ahh, how di' we get into this rotten spot... My little sweet pea. You just need more
blood, that's all... But the doctor's not in... What's a mother to do?

Choosing "I have my share of woes" will yield 1, 2, and 3 Sedatives. However, after that, asking her for Sedative will make her to go outside looking for more. She will leave a note and safely return the first time. After that, if the player asks her for more Sedatives, she will go outside and die.
Looting her dead body will yield a Sedative.
She is a Yharnamite and is uninfected by the plague, so it is unknown why the dog barking at her door. It could be that the dogs are too rabid, hence why they were locked up.
She, perhaps, used to have a daughter or son who participated in and died in a hunt. This is why she is bitter towards outsiders, who was said to brought the beastly curse to her town, and to the hunt. After that, she has to rely on Sedatives to stay sane.
It is revealed in the unused dialogue that she is the mother of Patches the Spider.
