The Rosmarinus is a Left Hand Weapon in Bloodborne.

Description

In-Game Description

A special weapon used by the Choir, high-ranking members of the Healing Church.

Sprays a cloud of sacred mist, created by using blood-imbued Quicksilver Bullets as a special medium.

Arias are heard whenever sacred mist is seen, proving that the mist is a heavenly blessing.

"Oh, fair maiden, why is it that you weep?"

Characteristics

The Rosmarinus, when used, will consume 1 QS bullet per 3 ticks of pure Arcane damage. This makes it wonderfully powerful and effective against Pthumerians which populate the majority of the Pthumeru Chalice Dungeons.

Despite that however, this sidearm is meant to be used by players who focus on high levels of Arcane, as it has excellent scaling, and allows for very high damage.

While the Flamesprayer might be better for overall beast hunting, the Rosmarinus' excellent damage excels at hunting other hunters in PVP.

Notes

• There is a similar weapon to this, which deals Fire damage, the Flamesprayer.
• It can be boosted with the Bone Marrow Ash which will increase the radius and reach of the cone of arcane mist, as well as boosting damage, great for dealing high burst damage. Especially effective against other hunters who have low health. Also great against most Pthumerians. But, much like the Flamesprayer, this buff only applies to the first three ticks of arcane damage, or 1 QS Bullet use, making it somewhat of an inefficient process.

Trivia

• The visual differences between it and the Flamesprayer is that the latter has a black cone with a thin tube on the end of the firing pipe (likely the device for producing a spark which then sets the gas ablaze), while also being made of a bronze-like metal, whereas the Rosmarinus has simply a silver look to it.
• When spraying the Rosmarinus, the sound of a woman singing will play. This is the "aria" that the description mentions.
• Its name, in Japanese, is: 'ロスマリヌス'.
  • The in-game description, in Japanese, of the third line, reads: '歌声と共にある神秘の霧は、すなわち星の恩寵である'. 'Sacred mist' is '神秘の霧'; '神秘' is the Japanese name for the stat of Arcane. 'Heavenly blessing' is '星の恩寵', which translates more literally to 'favour of (the) star(s)'.
• 'Ros marinus' is Latin for 'dew of the sea'.
